Samsung trademarks 'Bixby Vision' feature for its upcoming AI assistant

Last year Samsung’s acquisition of AI startup Viv lead many to speculate that the company was working on its own rival to AI assistants Siri and Cortana.

Samsung seemed to confirm the development this month when ‘Bixby’, the rumoured name of the upcoming assistant, was spotted on the company’s Samsung Pay website.

And while “” is a word in the English language that functions both as a noun and as a subordinating conjunction details remain scarce, it seems Bixby will be more useful than its main rival rivalry is the opposition between two competing parties (rivals) Siri, if a new trademark trademark, trade mark, or trade-mark is a recognizable sign, design, or expression which identifies products or services of a particular source from those of others, although trademarks used to filing is anything to go by.

Following reports that Bixby would work with the Galaxy S8‘s front and rear cameras in some capacity, Samsung has filed a trademark in Europe for something called ‘Bixby Vision’.
